As a licensed Certified Public Accountant ("CPA"), Emily brings a decade of experience spanning forensic accounting, corporate investigations, litigation support, audit, tax, and financial analysis.
Emily began her accounting career at PBMares, a well-regarded regional CPA firm, where she performed both tax and audit work, including personal tax returns, before specializing in audit and forensic accounting.
She went on to spend nearly seven years at AlixPartners, a global consulting firm, advancing to Director in the firm's Investigations, Disputes and Risk practice. During her time there, Emily worked on a range of high-profile engagements for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions, including advising clients through SEC investigations, uncovering multimillion-dollar fraud and asset misappropriation schemes, tracing investor funds across complex investment structures, and investigating whistleblower allegations.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Mary Washington. She grew up in Loudoun County, Virginia, the oldest of four siblings, and lives in Rockville, Maryland, with her husband, Daniel, and their son, Mason. She is also an active real estate investor, managing a portfolio of rental properties in the Washington, DC area.
